They have driven me to distraction, Ken. I honestly think they look up to parent company 80% of time and down to customers 20% of time.

A recipe for absolute disaster in any company. Do you think they would deal with a B***** *o*i* email the same way as they have been dealing with our emails? If a person who shall be nameless happened to be on the Board of a parent company who shall be nameless, would they have continued to send computerised replies and refused to reply properly?

I was really hacked off with a recent warning letter after someone had rr'd me. Thought the reviewer had not read the thread and the context of my remarks, so I appealed.

I would have had more success appealing to Katherine Jenkins (hope she hasn't been banned by Genes otherwise I will get another rr) :-) ;-)

John,

I didn't say they have been wonderfully responsive. Unfortunately I do think they do their best.

'My updates' activity for October ended at 120, exactly the same as July.
The November figure is 146.

Good to see the poster back who looks like a patchwork quilt.

That is the sort of quality that Genes need to encourage. It will be a sad day for all of us if they could not post cheerily.

Quite right, pardon me

No fun or silliness? :-S

Very pleasing that at last the Genes team have appointed another moderator.

About time some threads were referred and properly dealt with. It means that we can all enjoy this site without a lot of fun and silliness. :-D

This is one occasion where your tongue-in-cheek comments can be read as intended. :-D :-D

Ken

I so agree with you. I think the Genes Team have been wonderfully responsive.

Occasionally customers expect a personal reply and get very insistent if that reply does not materialise.

So silly. There are only a few of them that can answer our questions and I am sure they do their best. :-D

Yes but there is still a problem with big trees and full/list views that they must solve. It's good that they have implemented the cousins marrying function.

Those requests you are no longer getting are more likely to have come from people with big trees.

JohnLovesHorlicks

JohnLovesHorlicks Report 25 Oct 2012 08:49

Good info, Ken. So sounds like new layout is being accepted :-)

Am still getting hardly any requests to open my tree. Only one so far in Oct, used to be several a week.

KenSE

KenSE Report 25 Oct 2012 08:41

Well the total of number of updates in "My updates" for October is now 114 which is about the July level. So it seems activity is now back to normal and the new layout is generally accepted

Nor me :-|

Don't care any more. But someone might, I suppose

KenSE Report 3 Oct 2012 08:28

Following on from my post of 5 Sep 2012 18:49, the number of updates by my tree contacts has now begun to increase again:

July 120
August 57
September 64
October 31 (after only 3 days)
