Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 23 Feb 2013 08:21

I got a reminder the other day that my subscription is due, and it will be £7.95 which is very good. It's been a continuous membership since Feb 2005. Where have the years gone?

Tell me about it Liz.
Still don´t think that Genes are playing fair with other members, even though I´ve got nothing to complain about. :-|

My renewal notice just in shows a massive jump from 9.04 € to 14.36 €. for SIX MONTHS.
Also offered, a year's membership for 19.95 pounds.
I am in two minds whether to renew.

It cost me £19.95 this time as I had let my membership lapse. I didnt kno how much they had took as once I had gone through procedure it said it had used the last card details I had used so I could keep last membership number. This happened to be my husbands card and he contacted me not very happy about the cost but it had already gone through. I do think they have gone up extortionatly. I paid £9.50 for many years and just because I let it lapse it has doubled. It will be my last subscription as Im tying up all contacts so they can find me elsewhere.

When I first began complaining to GR just before Christmas re my subs I had looked up my subs history and there it all was. However, when I began exchanging many emails with them - this mainly disappeared.

I did go through my credit card statments, unfortunately OH had, a few weeks before, shredded a lot of statemnts and these only go back to 2009.
2013 I paid £15.odd, 2012, £9. odd, 2011, £7.00 odd, 2010, £9 odd and 2009 the same.

They are still picking and choosing - 3 different rates for the same subs.

Ive been on GR since 2002 when it started and paid my 1st subs in Jan 2003. Just got my renewal through (we got an extra month somewhere along the way) and they want £15.96.

Seriously considering my options which would be a shame.

Lyndi Report 24 Feb 2013 19:18

Have just renewed this evening for £7.96 for a year.
While of course I am pleased that I only had to pay that amount, I agree that the system is flawed and unfair on so many members. :-| :-S
There should have been an announcement on the boards, it could have been in a newsletter, and an email could have been sent to all members with a date set for changes in subscription.
We could all have moaned, whinged, debated etc, and then made a decision on membership instead of this pot luck system
