Julia, it was Helen who is to try the french onion soup, I added her post for her. I used to eat french onion soup but these days it doesn't like me.

AnninGlos. As a no sugar person or sweet foods, I have always found French Onion Soup, too sweet for me. If you do try this recipe, and it is not sweet, please let me know.

I apologise in advance, as I have said before I have so many books to read here that I am being selective in what I read. I really don't want to read lunch in Paris but I will try and read as many of the others as I can, can't rely on the library so it is what I can download on the Kindle or find in charity shops.
