Had a colleague who lived there. Remember it being rather nice and a long way from his roots, which were Peckham. Seemed to be quite a few London retiress living down there.

Loved Ramsgate. Was that where Aunt Betsy Trotwood out of David Copperfield really lived. A rather smart house above the sands where Dickens used to stay as a boy?

I reckon you have killed this thread, Lynda. Sure Sealyham was trying to compete for hits with the legendary Bread Bins thread. :-D

So are we talking Birchington-juxta Manston juxta Middlesbrough :-S

Is Kent near Middlesbrough? Must ask C J de Mooi. Or my daughter who teaches geography and thinks Harrogate is in Sussex :-(

Think we had better all own up. :-( :-(

No, none of us are among the 9,800 burgers of Birchington juxta Manston :-( :-(

Can we still join in on your thread? :-S

Isn't that Manston? My Dad said that it had such a long runway that Concord could land in it if needed. ;-)

KCC are quiet keen to promote Manston as the site for London's 3rd runway - even better if they were to extend HS1 and join it in to Eurostar.

Poor sealyham will wonder what s/he has started!

It is quite near France :-D And a possible site for third runway.

Birchington-on-Sea is a village in northeast Kent, England, with a population of around 9,800. (Wikipedia). Don't know all 9,800 that well.
