I agree with Joy, Rose and Kay. That is all that needs to be said at this sad time.

Just seen this update on Yahoo

"The grim news for the small Welsh town came soon after two women claimed they saw a man carrying a bin bag to a river the day after April went missing.

The two women who made the sighting are said to have been interviewed by police, who insist they are 'looking into all leads'.
Carwen Sheen, 36, told the Daily Mirror: "I've told the police what I saw, it's up to them now."

Police said the 'dynamics of the search' have now changed following the 'significant development' in their investigation."

Berona Report 5 Oct 2012 12:02

Does it matter who was where or who was doing what at the time of her disappearance?....and does it matter who is related to, or living with who?

She should have been able to run home when she finished playing or when she was called - but just ONE PERSON decided that was not to be.

Regardless of all the advice from the armchair sleuths, the child is missing and she shouldn't be, because NOBODY has the right to take her away.

Leave the questioning to the police. If you live close, go and help look for her, but if not, join the rest of us in hoping that she is found safe and well....and stop using this thread to have a go at each other!

My apologies, aivlyS, I have amended my post. I'll know better than to take Sky news' word for anything again.

As the OP the purpose of this thread is so we can show support in our own ways & keep each other updated with valid news reports about April.

It was NOT intended as a game of online "Cluedo" I personally have found this deeply distressing & wish I could help in some way...I wanted her to be found safe & well, that is all & that has been the same for the majority of posters.

Over the years when terrible things like this have occured a Thread will go up in support-it is what we do because the GR Community have proven time & again to be a group of caring people. That said once again PLEASE STOP the speculation & comparisons it is WRONG. We all are aware of historical cases so if you want to discuss them John start your own thread, however, I cannot see it being a popular topic.

Sorry to bring this up again, but I posted what Sky were reporting live at that time, not what they have put on their website since, aivlyS. I had thought that was implicit but obviously not - I repeated the words of a reporter.

She got it wrong and thus so did I in repeating it.

Let's hope the person to blame accepts responsibility and her family get closure.

Sky news are renowned for their ghoulish, ambulance chasing reporting of the worst kind. I am just so bloody sad for the whole family. I hope the media will back off from hounding extended family and neighbours for comments on how the family must be feeling. let them have some privacy to come to terms with today's tragic news.

I was told today he has been charged with murder....as well but I hadnt read any thing....

I hope the media leave off her family and extended family, why does the public need information on them, what a stupid comment to make.

5EXY,

I live between the Dovey Estuary and Barmouth, in that part of Cardigan Bay. A search helicopter has scanned our beach several times today - it is so distressing for us here to know what they may be looking for.

Tecwyn Must have been a terrible week for you all in that area. We are all thinking of you in Valleys (notice on news one young lady from Tredegar nearby has been organising food for volunteers).

The Welsh news has been exemplary this week, and BBC nationwide has done a marvellous job. Sky not so good :-( :-(

Few interesting points from Wales News tonight:

Local vicar emphasised that the whole town still had hope. Services tonight.
Headmistress of Ysgol Gynradd Machynlleth (Mrs Gwenfair Glyn) said they are all clinging strongly to the hope that April wil be returned to them.
And pink ribbons still remain everywhere.

I also heard on news that Mark Bridger was present at parents evening on Monday evening, and so were April's mother and father.

Search teams stood down tonight, but their huge presence in area will continue in morning.
