He is off to the eye clinic tomorrow and when he has his cataracts treated he will even be able to see where he is going at speed. |

Oh wow, I had cataract surgery at quite a young age (40 and 42) the difference in vision was amazing. The only bad thing was how bad all the paintwork looked. :-( |

I think that is very much down to the individual as to how competent they are but my dad did have to pass a competence test to be issued with his wheelchair. |

My Dad who was 83 yesterday still drives his car. He does not do long journeys very much but he is very active and alert. |

I can well imagine the effort involved in getting him to hospital for 9 o'clock, but great news that the surgeons are able to operate and help his vision. |
