My grandma used to tell me how she made black pudding as a girl. Pwdin gwaed in Welsh, literally blood pudding. I always thought there was blood on her hands!!

Father in law would make his own sausages with very high meat content. Local butcher was prosecuted for selling sausages with too little meat. Dad's were not very nice, the illegal ones with high bread content were absolutely scrummy.

So I like a nice fat pork one with very little pig in it. And I would really beef about any other type of sausage meat :-D

Hi Merlin, our microwave is used just for frozen meals, reheating or defrosting items and thats about it.

But with you mentioning a grill, it made me think, we have two kinds of metal lattice grills that came with the oven.
So I've been and searched and found them and the 60 page booklet that came with the oven as well.
It appears the oven has several optional cooking facilities that I didn't know about, so never used.
ie.. Slow Cooking, Multi stage Cooking, Thermal Grill Cooking, Dual Cooking and Convection Cooking.
The booklet also contain loads of recipes as well. (First time I've looked in it)

Looks a little too complicated for this old gas oven cookster :-(

Well... I just microwaved a couple of sausages 1min 45secs at 900.

They were cooked to perfection, and tasted OK, but I would have preferred them a golden brown looking.

I just could not believe the amount of fat that oozed out of them, and these were Beef sausages as well. :-0

Good luck!

After consideration, it might be best to cook for 1 minute, and then check....you're going to have to experiment so don't put loads in at once in case it all goes horribly wrong!

Microwave heats food so well, that sausages will be very safe. But taste like pate or putty - much better on BBQ or grill :-D :-D Even worth extra risk of tummy bug (unless you are in a high risk group JLC ie young, old, or pregnant.)

Thanks for +++DetEcTive+++ .

I will have to give it a try . :-D

Would be better for my cholesterol level doing them that way I think .(get rid of some of the saturated fats) :-)
