Hello still have my LPs`in a box .45s` & a couple of Elvis Eps` tried to sell them yrs ago .dont get offered much for them so they are staying in a box for now x

Lynda , I've just been talking about it with Dan lol, no fear of him ever putting anything in a skip if even a few pence can be made from it lol... he's Alan Sugar, Richard Branson and Del Boy rolled into one :-D

Not only have I got LPs but have a load of 78s as well.Have got a machine and trying to transfer LPs to CDs and then on to iPad....hopefully!!...marathon job!

:-0 @ Joy that's worse than handbags lol , I hate clocks ticking away, I was sleeping at a friend's recently and there were 3 of them within about 20 feet, all tick tocking at different speeds :-|

my first fiance had a good record collection, he always said I'd stay with him for that if nothing else lol, I used to work in the record shop so he had first dibs on all the picture discs and coloured vinyl :-D

Most of the songs I can find on youtube, but there are a few obscure singers that never made it...

I know someone who was 16 last week, who got a record player for there birthday, and loved getting his Dad's records out to play, so it maybe that records are on there way back. But, if you're not bothered that much about the records, then sell them and buy something you want instead.

If you were saving them for your son, then I'd ask him if he'd like them first. We decided a couple of years back, all the things we were saving for our children, when we're gone, they would probably hire a skip and chuck most of it out :-D

Enjoy what YOU want Rose, chuck out, or sell the stuff you don't, it's so much better not having things you don't want around :-D

Joy I bought one for my son, looks good, but would not do it to any in my collection. :-0

Still got loads of LP's and a few singles. Someone gave me an old turntable a few years ago and I play them all occasionaly. Carol is right ..... it takes me right back.

Don't get rid.

My x husband sold both of my copies of the Beatles White Album ,one mono and one stereo on E-Bay a couple of years ago. He got a couple of hundred pound for the stereo copy. No idea what he got for the mono one because he sold them without my permission and I didn't see a penny.

They originally belonged to my first husband who died when my two boys were very young. It had been my intention to give them one each.

I can't bear to part with mine. Been all over the world with me. OH has over 50 Sinatra and "Rat Pack" LPs.

Treated myself to a new turntable, and now recording LPs onto CDs.

As you say Rose - part of your life, as mine are. Don't sell them, you may regret it.
Listening to "Hotel California" as I type. :-D.

Bought a new turntable recently to replace one 35 years old. Those old records now sound great. A lot of mine aren't issued on CD, so haven't played them for a while. Yeah baby.....

Keep them Rose, the record players will return I'm sure. No one is getting their paws on our picture disc or green vinyl, they will stay in the spare room with all the other useful stuff :-D

i seen one in a post shop a few weeks ago

but nobody's touching my David cassidy collection :-D :-D

What have you done with your old vinyl Lps? no record player now so trying to decide whether to put the records on Ebay,...or not :-S

They take up a lot of space ...but then again they are my 'youth' lol
