The ship INVERCARGILL arrived in Port Chalmers,OTAGO New Zealand on 30th September 1875. It left Clyde Scotland. Recorded as leaving Glasgow 2/7/1875. There was 436 government assisted immigrants on board for New Zealand. Captain was Mr Peacock. I am still searching for more details. There are a number of questions I have including the quarantine rules at the time and if the Captain, crew and passengers were treated well. I would welcome any information anyone has on this particular voyage the Invercargill made in 1875. Its maiden voyage in 1874 is quite well documented. |
