just how much us womenfolks put into Christmas, or do they just draw their chairs up to the table, knife & folk in hand.
I was stirring my Mincemeat together, when I had this thought. Do they make a decision on what foodstuffs you are all going to eat your way through during the festive period. Do they do any of the shopping towards it. Do they queue, as we do.
What about making decisions over the presents, and what, for who. Do they queue for the last toy in the store.

Polite answers only please. This is not a battle Royal by me, just a little light musing

Mine does :-D But then, we don't make a big deal of it.
He organises his family presents, shops, cooks. :-D I look after mine.
We don't do 'his and hers' :-)

just said to mine had better write cards he says why bother lol.

He does most of cooking I do the christmas day buffet tea.

I do all presents for family and send them etc I do all kids presents he has to be pushed into buying stuff for kids to give me and usually ends up with me buying something and he gives to them to give me.

We dont buy each other things would rather spend money on treats for kids.

Until the last few years we did use to go out altogether in woods and get stuff to make garland for door which he made and kids helped him with.

Julia was thinking the other day maybe i should make own mincemeat again as isnt as runny as shop bought ones so can fill pies up more

We do it all together shopping, presents, cards, prep& cooking etc it's all a 50 50 share.

So the answer to your question from this household is YES :-D

I think it's a case of circumstance in each household

the butlers answer to christmas is
to buy the tree a turkey and just give money as presents

he says says no point in giving gifts nobody really wants bah humbug

i myself put the rest of the effort in to it we have big family christmases :-D

I do the lot, ordering the food etc,collecting it, cooking and serving it all whilst imbibing in a little light refreshment,washing up well taken care of by dishwasher. :-D Ps, I quite enjoy doing it. :-D

I am glad to read that some of you 'share' the task.
Really don't like giving money, but do rather than buying something that the person doesn't want or like.

Dawnie, I have made my own Mincemeat for years. To me it is part of Christmas, and the smell of the spices and Brandy are gorgeous. We have just unwrapped a Christmas Cake I made in January this year. It is fine, and I will start ' feeding ' it from now. l am making my Pate this weekend. Personally speaking, I love all the food prep. and cooking.

OH is just looking at some twiglets on a Sambuca Tree that need pruning. I shall be spraying them silver, as part of me decks for this year, and will adorn them with red things.

We don't buy each other personal presents, but buy together things. DVD's, CD's etc. Don't let him pick me books though. LOL.
This year it looks as if we are going to share a couple of budgies, and an air frier.

I just hope that everyone has their good health to enjoy it all.

Oh Rose, I ought to have put it better than that.LOL What I actually meant was that the last of our pair of Love Birds has died, and we are looking to replace them. Just missed a pair of Cinnamon Cockatiels this morning by a gnats whisker. So who knows what the OH may find.
