My answer - we don't bother any more!!!!

Stopped giving gifts years ago, now we just give to the children in the family, the majority of that is money.

I get turned off big time by the mountains of sweets, mince pies, puddings and things which we are 'supposed' to buy/make/enjoy. I will cook a nice dinner, but only do the traditional thing if we have visitors, and even then I don't go overboard and prefer some nice fruit and cheese to all the sickly stuff. Don't like Xmas pud or mince pies anyway :-D.

My main 'effort' goes into 2 shoeboxes for the Link Romania charity, and those have to be done by early November.

I think many people go overboard at Chistmas which is fine if you can afford it and enjoy it, but all too often it fails to live up to the hype.

Oooh I love Christmas and all it entails, even if sometimes it is alot of work for me. Wouldn't have it any other way.
