What a lovely story, despite being tinged with sadness, the outcome is fantastic.

I hope you have a fab day, you have so much catching up to do, and i'm sure she'll be thrilled that you've done those photos for her.
Take a large box of tissues and a camera!

Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it Report 11 Nov 2012 12:26

Well we had a lovely time . Emmie is lovely and her hubby and two sons.

Her dads sister was there too aged 93 and she had many more memories than Emmie of her being with our family and could recall vividly the name of each family member .

Emmie was very emotional seeing her own picture at aged 3. She did also remember mum and dad and some of my brothers and sisters. remembered names but couldnt put faces tosome them other than our youngest brother Alan who went too see her two weeks ago,. I took other pictures too of our daughter and grandchildren and grt grandchildren and she loved them too

She said when she asked her dad when she was 14 if she could go back to Mummy Grace and he said no she was crushed. Her stepmum was really awful to her even one time burnt her clothes in the grate cos she didnt pick em up fast enough and take em upstairs.

She was so unhappy she married at 18 but knew it wasnt right as soon as she had done so but she just wanted out . That marriage didnt last and she remarried some 8 years later.

Her hubby is very quiet whereas she is very bubbly . they compliment each other very well.

She really is a mother earth girl had loads of neighbours keys so she can pop in and feed animals check if some one has left the gas on etc etc..

She called her neighbour in, the one I cheekily rang ,to meet us and to show her the pictures. I said to the neighbour .hope you didn't mind !! and she was NO i thought you were very ingenious I wouldn't have thought to do the same thing.

What did surprise them all was how quickly I found her using the Internet. lol

So a great afternoon and a "sister" returned to the family .

So glad it all worked out well.
Just shows what we can do when we really put our minds to it...and with the Internet has opened up new worlds to us.
You have made all concerned happy ...and it's such a good feeling!...well done.

So glad the meeting went well Shirley and you have a whole new family to include with yours as Emmie does too of course.

The time with your family is part of Emmie's family history so lovely for her to be able to update her memories and have photos too, to pass on to her own family.

Hope you can enjoy many lovely natters and meet now and then too
