Mum was Welsh and all her family used to eat them plain, without butter.We like a nice dash of spice in them.
We used to eat them cold except for those we were allowed to test while they were freshly cooked.
They freeze well so it is worth making a double batch and freezing some.

Standing cooking them can be tiring, but a family production line of 1 person mixing, 1 rolling and cutting and another person cooking is great fun I've found.

I don't cook mine dry in the middle, just left a little squishy ;-) ;-)

Make sure you do use a heavy based pan though. Mine is about 25 years old..lolol but still does the job.

I'm not sure of the official way they should be eaten Jean. We had some in Wales on holiday and warmed them through and put butter and jam on. They are yummy :-D
Our youngest put golden syrup and squirty cream on and snaffled them down and looked for more :-D :-D
