Article in yesterday´s Daily Mail which referred to "Mother in laws & daughter in laws".
Surely Mothers in law & daughters in law.
Or am I just being too picky??

Sorry Merlin, but the article was saying that most women have problems relating to their husband´s mother.
Pretty sure it applies to men too & the outlaws have problems relating to the spouses of their respective offspring.

I suppose the Daily Mail would have referred to that film as The Witch of Eastwicks. :-D

I'm a lovely mother in law, as was my mother - my daughter in law is an angel, I love her to bits and my mother and father adored my husband and he them

However, his mother and father were despicable to me and I could never undserstand why - discovered long after they had died that they thought I was snooty and standoffish!!! gobsmacked I was - me who was brought up in a cotage with no bathroom, electricity and a toilet that had to be emptied in the garden!!!!

MiL in particular was an absolute bitch to me

I have the greatest mother in law ever. In 5 weeks she will be 95 and all her 3 sons-in-law and daughter in law love her to bits.

She has never worked for money in all of her life. She worked on the family farm in the Vale of Glamorgan (Pendoyland) after leaving school and was the only girl in the family - there were 4 boys. Then she got married in 1943 to a N Wales soldier and had 4 children. And father-in-law would not have been happy if she had got a job, so she never did.

So she never has had a PAYE slip or a P45 or a P60. And I can vouch that, since I met her first in 1976, she has worked harder than almost any woman I have known :-D

I never had a mother in law - her death was the reason ex & I met.

However, I'm a mother in law to two lovely young men.
I hope they don't think I'm an Eastwick Witch!!

They know the way to my heart - food (one's a chef) and booze :-D

Personally, I don't think they take my position seriously enough.
One had the audacity to sear on Facebook. When I'd finished laughing, I pointed out how shocked I was. He apologised,but called me Les (Les Dawson - did a wonderful MIL - which I try to emulate, to keep Sons in law on their toes) :-D
