Has anyone seen any posts from Maureen recently?

She usually pops up on the Find Ancestors board but i haven't seen any posts from her for a while now.

I hope she's ok.

Julia Report 15 Nov 2012 10:53

Morning Prickles, no, I have not seen her recently.

Nor have I seen a Mr. Shrimp, who paid us a short but pleasent visit during the summer months.

I haven't noticed any posts either.
Have either of you seen Rita about recently as I haven't .

Morning :-) I believe Maureen did not renew her membership, was about a month ago I think?

Island Report 15 Nov 2012 11:29

Ginnie, I think Rita just goes on the 'Friendly' thread these days although I haven't looked in for quite a while.

PricklyHolly Report 15 Nov 2012 11:30

I don't think i know who Mr Shrimp is Julia.

Now you mention it Ginnie, i haven't seen any posts from Rita either.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 15 Nov 2012 11:32

A thread somewhere has said that Maureen in NY was fine, and unaffected by Hurricane Sandy.

Island Report 15 Nov 2012 11:34

I vaguely remember Mr Shrimp - watch him pop up now.
There's a number of 'occasional visitors' who seem to have 'disappeared' although one has a little go when mummy isn't looking :-(

PricklyHolly Report 15 Nov 2012 11:35

Oh that is a shame Rose.

She was a great researcher and helped me out many a time.

Always kind and polite too.

JustGinnie Report 15 Nov 2012 11:38

Thanks Island & PH, i don't read the friendly thread so don't know if Rita is on there, for some reason I thought about her yesterday and realised that she didn't seem to be posting anymore.

Glad that Maureen wasn't affected by the hurricane

PricklyHolly Report 15 Nov 2012 11:42

Actually i do remember Mr Shrimp now.

Julia Report 15 Nov 2012 11:43

Never knew Mr. Shrimps proper name, but I think he had been on here in the past, possibly under a different name, or possibly one of the other GR boards. I know at the time the Beeb was doing some sort of historical programme, which came from Morecombe, and he said that is where he came from, hence his name.
He was quite aimiable and pleasent, didn't argue any point. Then he just vanished.

PS. I had thought of cultivating him, but if they do not want to play our games, then they do not know what they are missing. LOLOL

PricklyHolly Report 15 Nov 2012 11:43

If anyone is in contact with Maureen........please will you give her my best wishes.

AnninGlos Report 15 Nov 2012 12:22

I too saw the post that said Maureen was ok.

Rita I believe was in hospital a gew weeks back and the last I saw when peeping at the friendly thread was that they were worried because they had not heard from her. I believe she has health problems so I hope somebody can find out if she is ok.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 15 Nov 2012 12:25

There is a possibility that someone on 'PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING' may be in contact with Maureen.

PricklyHolly Report 15 Nov 2012 18:39

Thankyou Det.

Hopefully someone who post's on that thread will see this message and pass on my best wishes to Maureen.
