Hi Mersey. I wont! But when I go up to collect my award I'll remember to thank my parents, my wife and children, and all the posters on GR who made the receiving of the award possible, totally ignoring the small part my own god-given talent played in my elevation to superstar status :-D :-D ;-)

Hi Suzanne

I've graduated to medium sized furry animals now. Koalas are nice. Terry Pratchett called them 'drop bears' in one of his books. I like to think of them more as drop scones :-D :-D

Hello all

I know an idiot who is looking for a village :-D

I remember when I was a lot younger (about 60 years younger!) when autograph books were in vogue...and I don't mean today's magazine before someone suffering from nappy rash jumps on that theme...when one rellie would write in a new book "By hook or by crook, I'll be first in this book" Then another would squeeze their phrase in any available space aboveit, "By powder and shot, I'll see that your not"

Sometimes some of the posts on many recent threads remind me of that game ;-)

I hope I am friends with all of you lovely people ;-)

Noswaith dda, Suzanne (good evening).

There is a village in Northamptonshire (Wappenham) in 1881C where all people aged over 70 were classed as "idiots". About 10 of them in total. Probably all a bit deaf and enumerator was having a bad day.

None of the aged villagers had been promoted to "blithering". What an accolade, Dermot :-D One of our teachers called us all "dressed up drinks of water".
