Is Paul Jones the one with the goatee beard and glasses :-S

Have a lovely evening tomorrow, Geordie. I won't be thinking of you, as I fear a certain rugby team will be getting a thrashing about the time you start screaming. I will be under the sofa crying:-( :-(

I'm going to see Paul Jones with Manfred Man tomorrow night. My (very minor) claim to fame is that I has a dance with him in 1967!!

I remember going to see Lonnie Donegan perform in the early 60`s .
Mark Wynter was also on the bill singing "Venus in Blue Jeans".

Oh Happy days :-D

John that is so funny. Believe me I have the worst singing voice ever. I was made to stand at the back of the choir in Sunday School when I was seven years old, and some things have not improved with age. :-(

Paula+ Have just realised I have seen you on telly singing. Your partner sang:

Hey, hey Paula, I wanna marry you
Hey, hey Paula, no one else will ever do
I've waited so long for school to be through
Paula, I can't wait no more for you
My love, my love :-D :-D

Oh, the memories. Still looking good. :-)

"The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonite"

This here is the place where I will be staying
There isn't a number, you can call the pay phone
Let it ring a long, long, long, long time
If I don't pick up, hang up, call back, let it ring some more, oh
If I don't pick up, pick up
The sidewinder sleeps, sleeps, sleeps in a coil

Call me when you try to wake her up, call me when you try to wake her
Call me when you try to wake her up, call me when you try to wake her
Call me when you try to wake her up, call me when you try to wake her, oh

There are scratches all around the coin slot
Like a heartbeat, baby trying to wake up
But this machine can only swallow money
You can't lay a patch by computer design
It's just a lot of stupid, stupid signs

Tell her
Tell her she can kiss my ass
Then laugh and say that you were only kidding
That way she'll know that it's really, really, really, really me
CHORUS

Baby, instant soup doesn't really grab me
Today I need something more sub-sub-sub-substantial
A can of beans or black-eyed peas, some Nescafe and ice
A candy bar, a falling star, or a reading from Doctor Seuss
CHORUS

The cat in the hat came back, wrecked a lot of havoc on the way
Always had a smile and a reason to pretend
But their world has flat backgrounds and little need to sleep but to dream
The sidewinder sleeps on his back
CHORUS
CHORUS

We've got to moogie, moogie, move on this one

PP

I was going to post that line about the wife and kids last night, as that was what I always sang....but thought no best not

I do have that single on vinyl, but was too young to buy it in april 1969, I think I swapped something for it a few years later.
