Hi all what a fab ending to the season as you said although I sooooo wanted Alonso to win this year even after what they did at the last race ( I was a bit cross) but he person I felt most sorry for was poor Lewis lets hope he helps to develop Mercedes and goes on to win more championships. Roll on 2013

It is old age, Bob. Or should that be age old? :-D :-D

Why was Scalextric always like Formula 3 on a snowy and icy day. Used to celebrate with a glass of Ribena if my car did a full lap without diving into waste paper bin :-( :-(

Some of these computter games are better than real thing. I used to play TOCA2 (Touring Cars) and had learned all the tracks really well. And they were so accurate, even down to bumps. Real life F1 would be from Silverstone and I was yelling at Damon to get to the left to avoid the dodgy camber at Stow :-D :-D

Bob :-D :-D

Not "you both" You should have written "both of you" ;-)

Bobtanian Report 26 Nov 2012 00:25

Nice to see that you both can spell scalextric correctly!! ;-)

JustJohn Report 26 Nov 2012 00:16

Vettel went backwards after the first corner, Susan with. My Scalextric doesn't do that.

Nor does a driver slide into Lewis and knock his front nearside wheel off.

Oh. come to think of it, that is Scalextric - cars sliding round uncontrollably and knocking other cars off and finishing in the waste paper bin :-( :-(

I can't understand the attraction to motor racing.....after all it is only cars going round in circles .....one race looks much the same as another........I prefer football.....but not to the extent of one of my FB friends who drives me crackers......obsessed she is!.....I am sure she should be a footy manager......sheesh they would be in for it if the team didn't win.

Susan, that was wicked :-D :-D :-D

I agree Brian, a load of nancy boys running around a field screaming "not the face" earning obscene amounts of money and invariably ending up in court. Real role models eh?

Is it only twelve weeks : good-oh.

If only we could get rid of football on TV : the season used to be October to March. now it seems to be September to July. Motor racing does not hog the schedules to nearly the same extent' a couple of hours once a fortnight in the season.

And there must be plenty of other sports the channels could show, once the Olympics finished they all disappeared and football took over again.

MY OH wasn't too chuffed, he reckons Vettel has more luck than anybody else in F1.

After watching some awful moves which resulted in crashes this year I do think that some drivers really aren't qualified to drive an F1 car.

It's all very well giving a driver a chance but not when they cause chaos everytime they line up.

I was most pleased to see Massa on the podium, After his accident and having seen photos of the injury so close to his eye/brain I did wonder whether he would ever return.

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 25 Nov 2012 20:01

Sue Just watched highlights on Sky Plus.

What a gripping race and I suppose best man got title. Even if he came home with only half of his Red Bull intact. Felt very much for Massa - very emotional when he was interviewd. Great end to his season.

Next season will be fantastic. Hulkenburg has got to be one to watch - but Massa, Alonso, Vettel, Jenson, Mark and Lewis are all in the frame. And Paul di Resta is keeping the Scots happy.

Never was a big fan of Schuey - but sad tio see him exit stage left. Was delighted he bagged a point or two in his final bow.

the "trouble" with modern F1 is it appears to be slow, due to camera angles and such, but when you see those vortices coming off the rear wing, that car is doing close on two hundred miles an hour!!

and with modern safety techniques in serious crashes they get away with hardly any injuries which makes it seem tame..........not so!!

yes I too would've Liked to see Lewis win his last Maclaren race

but what a cliffhanger,

Ps I'm glad that it wasn't Murray Walker commentating, otherwise the fate tempting comment "unless anything happens to Buttons car"

I'm sure it would have............

it WAS nice of Massa to let Alonso overtake him...........

sort of cancelled out by Schueys "come on by" Seb!
