Oh yes, 'The Very Hungry Caterpiller' is a lovely book :-D

My grandchildren love the Gruffalo books.

When my grand daughter was born, my daughter & I scoured book shops and charity shops for 'The Tale of Georgie Grubb', 'Maisie Middleton' (don't remember who they were by)and 'The Sick Cow', by Val Biro, as they were my daughters favourites, and, though I had 2 of the originals, they were in a bit of a state!!

The grandchildren love the above 3 as well - I think my daughter has found newer issues on Amazon or e-bay - I have 3 grandchildren now, and their books take a hammering :-S

Have to admit, my elder grandson's (aged 4) favourite book at the moment is 'The history of Tractors', (lots of pictures) that I bought in a charity shop, to see what tractors my g g grandad may have worked on when he moved from being an ag lab to building the machinery that threw him off the land.
....Grandson lives in the countryside....

There's a website called Red House Books and you'll find LOTS of ideas for childrens books + you can shop by age :-D
