Its a case of Global expansion, methinks, greater population, greater fuel needs
greater energy/fuel use,and building transport vehicles bring jobs

ergo

more money to spend on fuel and other neccessities

Well at least in Qatar they will be able to buy petrol at 15p a litre, that will keep costs down, and a high proportion of the population in Qatar drive 4x4s and gas guzzlers.

What about video conferencing?
No carbon emissions, and in these days of austerity - we don't have to pay for 1st class flights, 5 star accommodation and extra security!!

We all know nothng substantial is going to come of it - just a lot of hot air, and perhaps a rise in the cost of commodoties and transport.

Local government get 'brownie points' for video conferencing.

...or is it the usual 'one law for you lot, another for us'? Don't do as we do, do as we say.

Whatever country they hold the talks in, the other members will have to get there, and if across the world they have to fly.

The government declares carbon emissions are rising.
Next week they fly to Qatar for the latest round of the United Nations climate change talks.
