May I suggest that you enter the name your have on Google, I did this a minute ago and it was very interesting. The name is across the world , including Ireland!

The name is still used.

Bridget

PS the name changes from time to time,

Marian, nothing springs to mind, would you like to say who and which census and I , or someone will have a look at the image to see if it helps?

Can you post the transcription so that we can look at the image? That's assuming it's free access.

The words "halmlagy resident"appears next to one of my ancestors born in Ross Pt Ireland. I have no idea what this means, does anyone out there have any ideas please? :-)
