I do a mixture of both, on line for Son and family as they have wish lists at Amazon and it is easier. Cash for older grandsons with some small presents bought in the shops, lots of small presents (like a stocking in a fancy carrier bag) for daughter and son in law because they can afford what they want, and a mixture of on line and shops for OH. Shops for the few friend's presents. |

I like Amazon for music and books, but usually end up buying presents in the shops. Has to be spontaneous, though, can never find what I want if I go with a purpose. |

Definitely prefer internet shopping. I have all of mine done wrapped and ready to go. I hate being pushed and crushed in the overheated shops and in the past I have made many a “panic purchase” I love buying presents and deciding what to get for people. Online I have been able to browse many of my usual stores M&S Debenhams, John Lewis, and of course Amazon. I went into the city last week to buy my Christmas cards it was manic and I forgot some of my “special cards” |

My son in law's business here in Oz would go belly up if everyone shopped online :-( I can see the convenience of online shopping but it's killing a lot of small shops. |

Kay, when I went down to my friend's recently overnight , she said would I like a boiled egg for breakfast but I'd have to hold it as she'd broken her last egg cup lol. So i thought I'd try and get her one, or a pair...she likes 'pretty' things so I thought something 'Cath Kidston' ish. |

I'm still looking for an egg cup lol, one shop had plain white, bit too boring, and none of the obvious shops had any at all...adding insult to injury the one place that had fancy shabby chic egg cosies didn't have the eggcups to go with them lol. ebay has lots but either very expensive or not what I'm after. |

I've had a 'reccie' and the only things I will get from the shops I have either already bought or know exactly what I'm going for so can do it quickly. |
