Use your imagination. The latest one, some liked and some didn't, some found it boring. If you had to put together a Royal Variety Performance in front of Her Majesty the Queen, who would you have in it.?

You'd need at least two comperes and about 12-15 mixed acts. To make it more realistic, use living performers.

living performers - so that's Brucie out of the picture then :-D :-D

This performance is for the benefit of HM, not the public.

So I hope HM will read these ideas and comment herself.

I would have thought that her favourites would be entertainers she has given high honours to.

Dame Shirley, Sir Brucie, Lord Dickie, Dame Vera, Prince Philip, Sir Gary Barlow........ :-D ;-)

Ann, I've been trying to think ( lol) but not come up with anything as yet, however I went to google to see what performers were in their 'heyday' when the Queen was young ...thinking along the lines of that we all have favourites from our youth and a 'revival' of some of those acts by younger artistes might be nice ( for example I remember my mum saying she and a friend went to see Jack Buchanan and Jessie Matthews when they were in their late teens I believe).

In googling I came across quite by chance this very interesting site about where I was born :-) so thankyou!

Rose That is a good thought. Webster Booth and Anna Ziegler could be revived by The Proclaimers, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers by Ashleigh and Pudsey. Gracie Fields by Charlotte Church.

Mind is now racing with ideas :-D
