It must be catching SparklingAnn

I popped over to my sisters earlier today and she was all bedecked. The only thing missing was the normal tree she has and there was a smaller one in its place. When I asked the original trees whereabouts she said she could only find half of it in the loft. The other half was nowhere to be seen :-S

I think Santa's elves are up to their tricks again ;-)

Go for it Ann.

And yes, I have found the rest of it Lol. Under our noses again. OH was putting up outdoor lights (he is a big kid too), and remarked that he had forgotten he had put the snowman (small lit up snowman) in the garage last Christmas. "light bulb (sorry cliche) moment. On the spare bed a box marked snowman, only it wasn't it was the missing bauble. Sooo all done now, looking nice and festive. :-D :-D

I suppose I am still just a big kid. Love the scene with the cottages all lit up. Just need to find some batteries now for the street lights.

There is a garden centre in Horndean Hampshire that sells these cottages and scenes in a big way, they are gorgeous, but a lot are very expensive. Some people are into it in a big way making model railways and cottages combined, others buy the fairground stuff. Great place to visit. Well it was a year ago, I assume it is still there.

Sounds lovely Ann, I remember many years ago my sister used to collect little glass animals, cottages and houses and every Christmas she would put them on an old mirror sprayed with artificial snow and make a very pretty frozen lake scene.

I just put away my normal ornaments and put out christmas ones and a small tree plus the christmas cards we receive and that is it for us.

Well I am off now to investigate my christmas stuff . :-D

Yes, it was the nativity figures I wanted . Strange though, at the end of last year I bought a small free standing nativity scene which is very nice (wasn't expensive,) but consists of Mary, Joseph and the baby and the Three Kings. that is wrong to me so I have made my own scene with the figures I had plus those I have just found and will swop to the new scene some time after christmas. I know it is pedantic but I like things to be a bit realistic. Just doing my favourite bit of the decs now. Making the snow scene with my six cottages, churches and shops. Wish I had a bigger space so I could add to it but have compensated by having a very crowded village green :-D Lots of figures.

I can't get into my loft but my OH puts the christmas stuff up there and always there is a bag or something missing when he brings it down and he swears he keeps it all together in one place. He usually finds the missing items when I don't need them. lol.

I have yet to check the stuff he has already got down, might do that this afternoon instead of shopping.

Glad to hear you have found some of your decorations Ann. :-) :-)

Well at least I have found the crib stuff and a few bits and pieces, still some things missing. The stuff I found was under my nose all the time because I had transferred it last year into carrier bags (2) and they were tucked down by the spare bed when we got them down early while getting something else. :-) :-)

I love doing the decks and am frustrated to not have found them. Love Christmas.

I havent even thought about getting decs down from loft. Not even going round to Lissys today and she had her tree up made me feel like doing it. DOnt need outside decs as one neighbour is tastefully done other is like a grotto so will save on leccie and tell people to head for house between the lit up ones.

Never can find a thing, not only decs, and land up buying a replacement.
We bought a load of batteries to go with presents in the Cash and Carry a fortnight ago: where are they now. GOK.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 5 Dec 2012 17:23

There's obviously a black hole lit up with Christmas decs somewhere. And a nativity scene minus the main characters. :-D

We dont just lose the decs,we lose the trees as well lol.We have 4 trees and this year we have found 2.Only found 1 set of lights and cant find the bay window outside lights. ;-)

lose a box of Christmas decs in the loft. Well easily it seems, our decorations are in lots of boxes but all kept close to the hatch in the same area. Last year we got rid of one box because the crib disintegrated. This was a large box that also held the crib figures, several lots of baubles that were used in bowls not on the tree, a table runner and a star shaped metal container that sat in the centre of the table with nuts in. (Quite heavy and bulky). This lot was put either into a smaller box or a carrier bag. Can't see it anywhere. We have both been up there. Very strange though, the figures of Mary and Joseph and the baby were in a separate box with other stuff. Shall have another look tomorrow but can't think where it can be. :-S :-S
