Glad some of our post is getting to destination quicker, blooming expensive though innit? server asked me one day if I'd like to sit down before he told me what I owed him :-S

That was a shame Jude especially as you asked for advice re: size etc.

I like emails but so nice to receive cards & letters through the letter-box :-D

Jude, are you saying that you had the envelope measured and weighed etc and the postage advised to you by the post office? If so you should get the envelope back and take it into the post office that advised you and complain. did you get proof of posting slip?

Wow thats brilliant.

l sent my grandson his advent calendar on the Tuesday to arrive by the 1st (Sat) Dec.......it arrived 4 days late. Post man put a note through door saying it had to be collected from PO and £2.30 to pay.
l went to the PO especially to get it posted and to buy a large envelope, had the address already to stick on envelope, l was going to use a JIFFY bag but she said that will have to be parcel post the envelope is letter post....stupid PO lady!!!!
l was in a big hurry as we were on our way to Dorset. Paid first class too.
This the 2nd yr this has happened to g-son....last yr it did'nt arrive at all:((((

Sounds about right.
Wouldn´t mind, but the postage isn´t cheap.
I sent 3 small parcels, each weighing around 150 grams & 12 Christmas cards to England this morning.
In total, just under €30.
That´s more than enough to buy Christmas dinner for 4 of us.

Pretty good considering I´m still waiting for a letter posted in England on November 4th. The friend who sent it has just returned from a month in New Zealand & the postcard she sent from there on November 21st arrived on 3rd December.
Think I´ll give up on the letter.
