No, cheddar should be a nice yellowy colour! We're spoilt for choice here as I live near the home of the cheese - some good local producers. |

Because I never saw it until I was in my twenties and rarely see it nowadays red Cheddar always seems like a bit of an unnatural act to me,like it should taste ,or not taste much at all, like Red Leicester. |

Red Leicester is not red Cheddar.I don't like Leicester but I love mature Cheddar. They both get their colour from annato dye,as does Double Gloucester. |
