From the Telegraph:

Nathan Grindal was left close to tears after jeers from the 2000-strong crowd at the Cash Converters Players' Championship final, at a Butlins holiday camp earlier this month.

The televised final, between darts legend Phil 'The Power' Taylor and Kim Huybrechts, was briefly interrupted as TV bosses became angry the crowd were chanting "Jesus" repeatedly at bearded Nathan.

Nathan, 33, who emigrated to Oxford six years ago from Australia, was ejected by six burly security guards, as players and television bosses were angry the rowdy crowd's chants were disrupting the match.

I'd have preferred they chanted something at the ugly sods there and got them off the TV screen :-D

That must have been some serious social event, rivalling the VIP box at Ascot.

Cash Converters at Butlins.........!!!!!!!!!

Bet he was cross. Did they throw the Book at him? Its a miracle he wasnt lynched.

etc.

Ooooh thou art on thin ice but safe until the morning ;-) ;-) ;-)

Besides if the 'ladies' wore Ascot hats nobody could see the 'one hundred and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayteeeeeeeeeeeeee' or when the chips were being served.

I wonder if they had a knobbly knees contest in the interval?

Which Butlins was it? Not in that godless Norwich was it? Tsk. No respect.

It was from Minehead,,,,,,,,fantastic tournamant.

Notices are put up about shouting while players are throwing and its also announced at the start of tournamant.

It wasnt because of the word Jesus,

So this poor bloke was chucked out for having a beard was he?

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 13 Dec 2012 10:14

I am not sure I understand why those who were shouting were not the ones turned out. Easier to pick on one person I suppose? Or was he responding and antagonising them?

Kay????

Kay???? Report 13 Dec 2012 10:22

Can't believe they threw the poor bloke out. What about the thugs who were heckling him?

Nice one - blame the victim.

What an over-reaction. Totally unfair that he was kicked out. He wasn't causing the fuss and he paid for his ticket same as everyone else in there. Security should have thrown out the yobs causing the interruption in my opinion.

Guantanamo Bay sounds more inviting to me :-D :-D
