Not sure what you mean Maggie? Are you saying a family health tree is not a good idea? It was suggested in a recent Yours magazine as a tool to knowing where the 'dangers' lie in your health.Awareness is important. And I am sure my doctor would be interested if I went to him with symptoms mirrored by those suffered by parents/grandparents etc. |

...I can just imagine my poor doctor, if I went in and insisted on a checkfor X, Y or Z , as I'm showing some of th symptoms, and my gx4 grandmothers on both sides died from it :-D |

Narcissistic Personality Disorder runs through my mothers family like lead through a pencil and, as for my paternal grandmothers side, well, my stroke should be here any time soon! |

In the nineteenth century my lot seemed to die from either old age/senility/decay or phthisis/TB. In the twentieth none of the causes are that simple. |

Annx that is what I thought, to find three ancestors from same family must stem back from ancestors. |

Yes, that was one of my motivations for doing my tree Ann. One side of the family long lived and the other not!! At the moment I am still tracking dates of death to try and see which branch brought the shorter lifespans. |

I had to do a health tree in 2009,took quite a while but it didn't show up anything medical for the person who had died young. |

Yes I have a bad heart, dad and several ancestors suffered same. What I found interesting in same family, through war records 3 ancestors had deformities of their feet, would love to be able to go back further. |

I already have regular blood pressure checks, ECG, etc. thanks to my Dad's side. Perhaps I've inherited Mum's 'circulation', she's 89 and not on any medication!! |

Probably very useful too if the doctor wants to check something out. |

I've vaguely done one Ann, and it's surprising what you can find, I've also looked into different branches of the family and can see some patterns, of where a particular condition comes from, it's very interesting to do. |

Has anyone else ever drawn one up? Just finished doing mine. Hand drew it though, back to Great Grandparents. Looking at it I think I had better watch my heart as heart problems seem to have been the main causes of death. :-( |
