Just read ChisofWessex's post of yesterday 16.26 -------

UNBELIEVABLE!

I was well & truly gobsmacked by Katie´s "explanation".
Do these people at GR realise that they are dealing with intelligent adults.
How the h**l can they implement a payment system if they don´t know how to explain it to the people involved.
I wouldn´t go into a shop to buy a coat & expect to be told that it costs X, or on the other hand it may cost XX or XXX depending on who serves you.
They clearly think we are all idiots.

Genes are not alone in trying it on.After a post on here about the AA I phoned to cancel my membership and they reduced it from £220 to £151 per annum.

TheBlackKnight Report 24 Jan 2013 19:31

I have to question Who needs Who around here? Who gives most the infomation to who? GR need members more than the members need GR as we are the ones that GR get most the info from that they have. We transcribe the documents & do other stuff, help new members etc. We are the ones that give GR an income, without us GR would not be around. Thats just my view but I do wonder who would agree with what I said?

BK - I agree!!!!

Sharron

Sharron Report 25 Jan 2013 00:44

Mine was £7.96.

ChrisofWessex

ChrisofWessex Report 25 Jan 2013 12:01

I had one year at that price Sharron and believe that it was 2009 or 2010. Renewal for 2012 was £9 odds.

Was your renewal recent Sharron?

TheBlackKnight

TheBlackKnight Report 25 Jan 2013 12:57

You paid the old membership fees for being LOYAL MEMBERS so by the new all pay one price increase GR are basically saying THEY HAVE NO LOYAL MEMBERS left. If that is true who do they have to blame? & why?

wisechild

wisechild Report 25 Jan 2013 13:24

Even if they have, that looks set to change in the very near furture. ;-)

ChrisofWessex Report 26 Jan 2013 13:07

I am not going to go away on this one. I did go into my account Christmas Eve and it had what subscriptions I had paid for over 4/5 years or so but it has completely vanished now. Wonder why? Anyway all I have to do is check my statements which cover more than that.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 26 Jan 2013 13:11

I am pretty sure I paid £7.95 for 2010 and 2011 and for 2012 I paid something like £6.75 (pence is a guess but definitely £6). Mine is due in April.

wisechild

wisechild Report 26 Jan 2013 13:45

I think it was 2010-2011 when I paid 7.95, but for every other year I know I have paid 9.95.
Should have had my 28 days notice yesterday
Zilch so far.

Wisechild

Do you have subscribe at the top of the screen...I have, mine expires 22 Feb

Special offer £1.33 per month ....6 months = £7.98

wisechild

wisechild Report 26 Jan 2013 14:35

Mine expires 22nd Feb too.
I have always in the past had an e mail from Genes advising my that my sub will expire in 28days & telling me what the rate will be for the coming 12 months.
Just looked at "subscribe" & it would appear to be for new members to complete, not existing ones who are due to renew........or not ;-)

jax

jax Report 26 Jan 2013 14:41

If you have turned auto renew off you would not get notification?

I am talking about at the top of the screen it says

gifts subscribe 25credits account help jax standard member sign out

New members would be charged approx £15 for 6 months

Joy

Joy Report 26 Jan 2013 15:02

I turned off auto renew a few weeks ago.

At the top is:
GIFTS UPGRADE PAY PER VIEW ACCOUNT HELP JOY KENTISH MAID . STANDARD MEMBER SIGN OUT

wisechild

wisechild Report 26 Jan 2013 15:52

Had another look.
Mine says special offer 12 months sub 0.67 pence per month.
That´s less than I normally pay!!!!
I have turned off auto renew as well.
Just wondering though. My original sub was until 21st January, then Genes added another month, to 22ns Feb.
Wonder if they are working on the original expiry date?
