Christmas? Will you be glad when the dec's are down and life is back to normal...or not. Has something 'made your day' today?

AnninGlos Report 27 Dec 2012 21:55

We had a lovely time, and son in law cooked some very nice meals. The journey home today was not very nice, traffic was horrendous as was the spray off some HGVs. The journey took half an hour longer than normal.

I am always sad to take the decs and lights down, I love them and love Christmas.

I hope you had a good time.

What has made my day? let me see........nope......nothing comes to mind :-D

Hello, Rose, hope you've had a good Christmas. I've just popped up to look up the cast of the film 'Hugo'. We are sitting round the table in the kitchen (me, 'im indoors, bro-in-law and my eldest daughter telling her about the film and who's in it. Couldn't remember the name of the character who visits Frances de la Tour's character, who runs a café on the station concourse, each day and it's Richard Griffiths. Don't know if you saw the film, but we loved it and I cannot understand a review I've just read that it's very inventive, but lacks charm. I think it had that in spadesful. :-)

Glad you had a good time Ann :-) My brother and SIL made a flying visit to us today on their way back from SIL's mum so I wonder how their journey to Surrey went traffic wise, probably not fun judging from your description.

Susan, no dec's :-( I do like them, the lights on the tree especially...a little light in a cruel world lol.

We had quite a nice, quiet Christmas but have recently had some very bad news which will end the (pretty crap) year on a low. Not entirely unexpected but still a shock :-(

Sheila, sorry to hear you've had bad news.

Fingers crossed 2013 will be a better year for all.

GinN Report 27 Dec 2012 22:17

I've enjoyed this Christmas, all be it low key, but that's what made it good. Just a nice quiet family time with no mishaps. Guests have now gone home, so Hubby and I are enjoying a brandy, and basking in the warm glow of our lights and decorations.Went to our daughter's this evening, for a nice meal.
Sorry to hear that some of you haven't had such an enjoyable time, so I wish you well for the coming year.
