BRAVO!... George ,
Well done matey.

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 30 Dec 2012 10:47

Nice to see how quickly that report was dealt with. As they have staff in today, perhaps all reports will be dealt with really fast.

Well done, George. Wonder if anyone else will put head above parapet. :-S

SueMaid Report 30 Dec 2012 10:56

Well I'll put my head above the parapet and ask what the point was in doing that? It hasn't achieved anything and the post has been reinstated.

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 30 Dec 2012 11:06

The last three or for weekends, posts have been reported - usually for no apparent reason. And they have been left with no OP all weekend and then OP has been reinstated on Monday.

Why was this report by George dealt with any differently?

Sue,
its achieved one thing ....Just how quickly a RR`d post CAN be dealt with. :-D

Each GR thread is a competition that can be entered on FBook or by email. I have entered the competitions before and happily have won two prizes. They are fun and quite a number of people enter them. No point in being able to post an answer as all the info. you need is in the opening posts. I can't see what the problem is quite honestly.

SueMaid Report 30 Dec 2012 11:22

You do have a point there, JC :-D

Rambling Report 30 Dec 2012 11:24

I wouldn't mind if the 'Start your Family tree week' posts were what it says on the packet...helping newbies START...but they're not, they are 'competition and publicity' posts..... I think that's breaking some T & C somewhere, re posting accurate info?! and ALL of the posts could be put onto one single thread , with 7 entries.

Weak areas of Genes are:

Programming
Customer Relations
Marketing
Finance
Communication

Weaknesses is most of those areas are instanced by these stickied threads.

If each of these areas could be addressed "root and branch" it would be a more attractive site with positive feedback.
;-)

I thought I read somewhere......suggestions board methinks.....that GR don't work at week-ends......or maybe I have been seeing things along with multiple threads which could be put on the home page......It is not as if we wouldn't see them when we are forced time and again to sign in.

Kense Report 30 Dec 2012 20:10

The support team don't normally work weekends or bank holidays which is why they say a reply will normally be given in three days.

As far as actioning reported posts goes, there is supposed to be some cover every day, but plainly that doesn't always happen.

Surely a one line statement on the general board advising members to look at the Announcement board for details of the competition would have sufficed. Especially if similar details were posted on the Home page.
No need to monopolise the Chat board.

Is there going to be a day 7 competition?

OneFootInTheGrave

OneFootInTheGrave Report 1 Jan 2013 09:10

KenSE,

I was wondering that because I saw somewhere on here that on Day 7 they say:-

"Start Your Family Tree Week: 1 January Start Your Family Tree Week

Happy New Year! Our best wishes for a very happy 2013.

New Year's Day is a great time to talk to your family about the progress you've made.

Transfer your findings to our free family tree to create a secure online version"

The question is - How do you do that when the Gedcom Processor is still not working :-(

JustJohn Report 1 Jan 2013 10:42

James :-D :-D

At least we don't have to worry about anyone hacking into our tree ;-)

C`mon Ken should know the story by now .

"And on the 7th day GR rested"...
