As we were at daughters we didn't really have any leftovers. We brought some cold meat back with us, enough for one meal, but we'd only had the turkey on Christmas day as SiL did steak and kidney with dumplings (made by daughter) on Boxing day. Any leftovers disappeared down 20 year old Grandson's throat. The two mels since we have been back have been salmon and a fry up (OH's speciality). :-D Small piece of gammon tonight but boiled not roasted, and roast Chicken tomorrow (NY Eve). |

As well as pile of sandwiches, I've made turkey curry, turkey a la king, and leek and mushroom soup with stock from the bones. From leftover gammon, tomorrow we're having Boston baked beans, also will make a cheese and ham pasta bake and a quiche, plus any scraps will go into lentil soup. |

We bought the Turkey breast from the butchers as our contribution to the Xmas fair. Was fresh white meat rolled and although a bit expensive we prefer it to supermarket turkey and we get all white meat which is preferred, |

Strange how some of us prefer dark and others white meat isn't it? I prefer the dark myself, always think it is not so bland. I am not a great lover of turkey at all actually and usually only buy it at Christmas, Unless I buy a drumstick which I have discovered cooks beautifully in the slow cooker, very tasty and tender. |

Ann, you were lucky to come back with the cold meat, and able to make a meal, after your travels. We had the soup, which I was ready for, and to suit the OH, the next day had Ham, Egg and Saute Potatoes, and then moved onto Scampi and Chips. I soon get ready to give my stomach a rest from too much food. |

I'm the same as Kay - don't like left-overs! I only ever do enough veg and potatoes for the meal. I don't mind a bit of cold meat the next day, but after that any left goes in the bin or the dog!! Only 2 of us this year so we just had a small chicken. |

Sparkling Ann, I am the same as you, in that I love the Bubble & Squeak the day after, with the cold meat. Eat it with a blob of brown sauce and a slice of bread and butter. That is as far as my joints go, as being only the two of us, I don't buy one that is too big. |

i dont waste any meat, its far to expensive. we had roast beef for xmas dinner, the left overs were sliced, covered in gravy and frozen, i divided the meat into 3 seperate containers. that will make 3 meals for 3 of us, just have to cook veg to go with it. i will do the same when i cook the leg of lamb. |
