Not a major coup for a Welsh language activist and respected local retired solicitor and author to get into a barny with a local £7 an hour cashier.

REALLY?????? Like what the girl earns IN A HONEST LIVING has anything whatsoever to do with this??? REALLY?????

>>>>I''m out of here>>>>>>>

Is it me or does the above quote from John sound very snobbish?

£7.00 an hour cashier ......pompus old fart

Ann we live just outside Manchester the reason it would of taken 5 hours is it would of been during the whit week during the 1960's so traffic was at a stand still and in them days they stopped every half hour for a cup of tea :-D :-D :-D :-D

**Ann** Report 30 Dec 2012 23:55

How rude of you John.....I know a lot of people that work hard to support their families on a small income....we can't all be doctors and lawyers......and being so does not make you a better person.....what a terrible comment to make.

SheilaWestWilts Report 30 Dec 2012 23:58

Perhaps John should consider the historical case of another 'respected' Welsh solicitor.......

Eeyore13 Report 31 Dec 2012 00:01

£7 an hour...perhaps the eminent welshman should write a book about people trying to live on that?

**Ann** Report 31 Dec 2012 00:01

Hayley.....You just made me nan used to say to my mum...We had better book the caravan early before the lot from Liverpool and Manchester fill up the camp!

RAF Sealand......My OH built the wall around the spitfire on the airbase.

supercrutch Report 31 Dec 2012 00:01

Eeyore it's the way you pronounce it that gives me stress incontinence :-D :-D :-D :-D

*$parkling $andie* Report 31 Dec 2012 00:02

This has to be coincidence but Dr Lewis's image on Google ( re this fracas )looks very similar to an avatar on here !
Mere observation :-\

BTW , I think Dr Lewis was pushing things a bit too far insisting on being told the cost of his purchases in Welsh..3 times !

Eeyore13 Report 31 Dec 2012 00:02

I do my best's the crrrccchhh's & stuff :-(

JustGinnie Report 31 Dec 2012 00:03

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one that found John's remark to be very rude.

Both John and Robyn Lewis have shown themselves to be both rude and pompous Welshmen.

aivlyS Report 31 Dec 2012 00:11

supercrutch Report 31 Dec 2012 00:13

A snippet for you:

The history and complexities of the Gorsedd of Bards of the Isle of Britain as an initiatory tradition is little understood outside the confines of Wales. Yet surprisingly it originated and first came to light in the City of London, a world apart from the gentle hills and valleys of Wales. The Gorsedd remains a mystery to those outside its ranks; the chosen few rarely speak or offer explanations as to the status and purpose of the Gorsedd, except in retaliation.

The City of London presumably got fed up with it!

Muffyxx Report 31 Dec 2012 00:14

For the record...pre children I've earnt decent money in a management role..but as it is now...I'd be dead happy to earn £7 an hour.... BUT it.wouldn't make my point of view any less relevant with a different job title and wage..I''m still able to stand my ground and fight my corner regardless of what I may or may not receive in a pay packet. How bloody condescending to judge somebody's crediblity on how much they earn..if she was a lawyer and author would that make HER point of view more believable??? I think NOT

SueMaid Report 31 Dec 2012 00:15

At least he said 'cashier' and not 'check-out chick'. He is doing this to cause the backlash. Do you think he really cares about Dr Lewis and his stupid stance in the supermarket? What he really cares about is being the centre of attention. Named his son after him? Rubbish.

Muffyxx Report 31 Dec 2012 00:19

You're right's a crock of shite.the lot of Uggers once's like an old lady pulling down her drawers to get on that note I'll float off for the night.

supercrutch Report 31 Dec 2012 00:20

Well who did he name his daughter after?

I await the reply with bated breath! ;-)

maggiewinchester Report 31 Dec 2012 00:52

OMG - I'm a page late - but my cats are black and black and white - yet I'm sure their mum came from Ireland.

Perhaps her mother came from Wales - does wetness of nose make a difference?

*whispers* - one thing I have noticed with these 'ferringer' cats is their sniffing of each others' arses - never had this problem with my 'English' cats - they sniffed each others' noses.

Where's Deidre and her 'help' page when you need her???

supercrutch Report 31 Dec 2012 01:42

Maggie I am glad to see that you are still nuts! :-P :-D
