Who wants Independence?

When the TaxPayers' Alliance last examined the figures in 'Unequal Shares: they found that identifiable public spending per head in England is £7,535 pa (2007-08).

But in Scotland it is 22 per cent (£1,644) higher, in Wales 14 per cent (£1,042) higher, and in Northern Ireland an extraordinary 30 per cent (£2,254) higher. That makes England the poor relation in the United Kingdom and means that English taxpayers' money is being used to finance a better quality of living for those in the other home nations.

Since then, it's been rising.

And, personally, I don't like it

:-P :-P

I want independence from the rest of the UK!!!!!!

*slaps MrDaff, you bloody did it!*

and for my next trick.....a thread about Independence, I need to gather my mental faculties and RESEARCH ONS results, trawl fiscal reports, published proposals raised during AGMs for multinational who have bases in Wales. Plus use the search facility at Companies House. Read CADW's proposed funding and for what? Check how much Objective One funding has been thrown away.

I can't just chuck guesses in you know :-P

Do you think GR are going to be happy that a Member is spouting their Political views to the point of saturation? I can't see you converting anyone with your methods...more likely to run to the hills.

JustJohn Report 3 Jan 2013 00:12

Sue. If Adam Price has authored that paper, you will not need to do any research. All the figures will be accurately at your fingertips. He is a very bright boy. ;-)

So the registration district for Colwyn Bay is Wolverhampton is it? :-D

TheBlackKnight

TheBlackKnight Report 3 Jan 2013 00:17

Yes it's a C&P but Adam changes political views...like you lol

Adam Price (born 23 September 1968, Carmarthen) is a politician in Wales, and former Plaid Cymru Member of Parliament for Carmarthen East and Dinefwr. He was elected to Parliament in the 2001 general election and re-elected in 2005 but stood down at the 2010 election. He belongs to Plaid's left-wing and has said of himself "I was a socialist before I was a nationalist

supercrutch

supercrutch Report 3 Jan 2013 00:19

So you were born in Colwyn Bay but your birth was registered in Wolverhampton? surprised you mother didn't register your birth in Colwyn to enshrine her Welsh progeny. If I have that right?

maggiewinchester

maggiewinchester Report 3 Jan 2013 00:19

Yes, conveniently ignore the figures.........

How would Wales cope without their bit of pocket money?

Despite this windfall some Welsh councils manage to spend less on schools than any other part of the UK

John you irritated me from day one when I invited you onto the Welsh Thread and you declined saying it was banale, so don't don't come the precious ' I am proud and privileged ' bit now of being 'Welsh' :-|

I welcomed you and you threw it in my face.
I wouldn't have cared what Natiionality you were ,I and others have welcomed many to the thread and it is a very friendly thread .

Had I know you had such strong views on Welsh Rule , I wouldn't have bothered, idiotic idea !
Glad you didn't accept the invite.
You don't have the same views as the other British posters on that thread.
We are friends and harmonize.

Jax. Yes :-D Let you work that out. Born Colwyn Bay, registered Wolverhampton. Remember an early thread along same lines whether someone was from Cheshire or Lancashire because birth was registered in another county.

My father could not get a good job in Colwyn Bay and had a reserved occupation as a Building Society Clerk in Wolverhampton Freeholders in Queen Square, Wolverhampton. He lived with his parents during week in Broad Lane, Wton and came up on train each weekend apparently.

My mother's father was dying and my nain was widowed shortly before I was born. Eventually dad bought a small semi in a place called Penn and we (mum, nain and me) moved from Colwyn Bay when I was one years old. .

Hope that answers your query. Not sure that I should have had to explain all that though. You obviously have been doing some digging for some reason.

Belated,perhaps......

Tecwyn - simply, diolch.

BK spreading 'lies' ?!!!! John, I want a pair of the glasses you have - the rose-tinted ones with blinkers. Where DID you get them from? Dr Lewis, perhaps ???

Wales as an Independent country ? That's a topic for a new thread, not this one (Sue ????). But your love for Peter Pan is wearing a bit thin in all matters Welsh. You cannot compare yourself to us, you cannot think like us. Being Welsh is not just a physical or political attribute, it's a mental one.

And if your not Welsh, you simply don't have it.(with apologies to the 'nearly integrated' population out there ! Mwaahhh!).

jax Report 3 Jan 2013 00:35

Well I dont have 16000+ posts to my name over the last 3 years because I spend my time on here chatting

Maybe you should change your place of birth on your tree then....as Penn Wolverhampton is obviously wrong

*Sigh* - John - who is Robyn Ellis who you have referred to a couple of times?

TheBlackKnight

MrDaff...you posted it at 23.47.

Suemaid-maybe he's thinking of Ruth Ellis? He's probably related

BK... did I, oh dear, going senile :-D

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 3 Jan 2013 00:47

Sometimes I get quite frightened by the amount of venom my thoughts and views engender. I have tried to explain why I think it just possible that Dr Robyn Lewis was not the most guilty party in the till incident in Spar Pwllheli.

I have never hidden or distorted any facts about myself - except one or two things that I really do want to keep private. I have always tried to say things as I would say them in real life.

I cannot see that I have written anything on this thread that is upsetting in any way. I have been polite and I have tried to ignore the jibes. Now the "you were the only one to ever cause trouble on the Welsh thread" rears its head again. And "banale". If I had murdered someone, the sentence would have been spent before you forgive me my transgressions when I started chatting back in August..

Anyway, I shall go to bed now and wake in the morning an Englishman. I shall start supporting England at rugby, I shall pretend I know no Welsh poetry, that I can sing no Welsh songs. :-( :-( :-( Perhaps I had better move across the bridge. :-( :-(
