And Jimmy Shand, Sir Jimmy Shand at the end.

There was something special about their music at New Year.

Oh gawd

You've brought back memories.......... of being forced to watch The White Heather Club! Mother loved it, brother and I sat on the floor making faces at each other :-(

Let the wind blow high, let the wind blow low......... who wrote that?

One of Jimmy Shand's band members (if my memory is right, the double bass player) is a distant cousin.......... a claim to fame?

:-D

Really, really dreadful.

Hated them when I was a kid and the years haven't changed that view.

Heaven forbid - the next thing you'll be digging up is Duncan McCrae and his ode to a wee cock sparra on the STV new year celebrations.

lolol Border

I remember Duncan McCrae and the wee cock sparra - awful!

Most of the tv shows we were "forced" to watch were cringeworthy :-(

Who remembers "Francie & Josie"?

Watched it once, brother & I laughing like mad, we weren't allowed to watch it again, Mother thought they were terrible (verrrrry low-class) lolol

Hi Janet,

"Roaming in the gloaming by the bonnie banks o' clyde
Roaming in the gloaming wi' a lassie by your side"

I'm afraid I'm too young to remember that - I can remember my gran singing it!

LMAO
