It works for me too :-)

Why was I not surprised this morning to to see this "HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable" and also to discover that the Gedcom facility is still not available :-(

I have a heart problem and I am getting worried because I will log on one of these days and the shock of finding everything working will be to much to cope with ;-)

Can't get tree -service unavailable - tells me someone don't exist after clicking on the exact link they have suggested under relatives - never get any new hot matches -every time I try to work on this site I have problems and error messages right left and centre- when I first joined this was a good site but now what exactly am I paying for? :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

Fed up.

Home by myself.

MOTH is playing golf.

Good day to add the new names I've found to my GR tree, maybe search for some matches.

What else is there to do? Not in the mood for any housework.

Kindle is recharging.

I think I'll go out on the deck with a box of choccies & watch the ocean....... it's a warm day so I'll have to eat really fast :-D

Yes had same error code, just when I've found 2 new branches to add to my tree.
Looks Like I'll be dragging the mass of files out too and writing it all down again.
I'm still trying to find the best way of logging all my branches on one tree, but the paper is never big enough.

So I have folders with my main tree's, with loads of sub trees for other family members. There's one folder for each of my parents parents.
This seems to work although takes up loads of room as I also have an email folder, a photo folder and a few message folders. I need help or a bigger house lol

That happened to me as well Pamela.........typed in a whole load of info and it wouldn't save it.

It's becoming a 'part time' tree. :-|

First time I've seen it

HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable.

I hope the GR staff are having a relaxing holiday. They should be busy when they get back to "work".

Getting REALLY fed up with this disaster of a site.

:-P :-P

PS Still laughing about GR's posts getting RR'd, and not back yet lolol :-D Would have thought they'd have a fix to stop their own posts being RRd

Apart from help from individual members, this site is total pants for building a family tree. I just enjoy the boards and leave the serious stuff to Ancestry.

Really don't care if I do get RRd!

Finally got access to my tree after two hours of error 503 message, and guess what, added two pieces of info to one family member and several attempts at getting it to save, now site has invited me to cancel and try again later as the tree is having trouble loading.grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

How frustrating is this site?!!

I'm trying to check two separate families that may in fact be the same family...except that a search for people that I KNOW EXIST in my tree results in messages telling me that there are no people of that name!

And then of course there was the earlier search where I unexpectedly had two people with the same name and birth year (and got very excited that yes, I could link two families) - only it turned out that I DIDN'T, and one of the two names had no spouse, parent(s), sibling(s) or child(ren)!?! No links at all. Just how did they get there then??

Oh, and not forgetting the weird, add a father, now add a mother...oh, you want them to be married? Oh go on then, but there'll be three marriage entries and you don't actually get to save ANY information in ANY of them??!!

I think I managed to export my tree and shall be transplanting to fresh fields. In many respects it makes much more sense (more records, direct links etc etc) but I just kept on hoping that GU would sort themselves out and I could stick with the familiar....oh wait...but it's not really is it....

I have only subscribed for one month and it runs out tomorrow. This is the second or third day out of the month that I cant access my tree. I wonder if there is any way to get an a free extension as it has not been working properly?

Alison Report 1 Jan 2013 20:24

Come on GU!

How can you trace your family tree if you can't even access it!

I am seriously going to reconsider renewing my subscription...
