Can't load my tree. I agree this is the ideal time to work on the tree. Except that you can't!!!

I should have stuck to my guns and not renewed my subscription.

I'm with you on that James,

I have joined Ancestry, yes it costs more, but you get a lot more.
They have a good tree that you can link to your FTM program if you have it, and it lets you download all your records and photos automatically.
Ancestry has loads of links to others who are researching the same family....Brilliant site.

After the total fiasco and lack of communications over the the past 11 days, I cannot put on a public forum any words that could express my real feelings about this;-)

This site was recommended to me and after looking at the sites own publicity, I decided to join, the help from the volunteers has been tremendous, but sorry the way management has handled this whole saga has left me totally disillusioned :-(

Been a perennial problem since they created the new tree viewer last year. It attempts to reconcile and index all the entries in the tree which for large trees can take for ever and in busy periods like this holiday period results in the servers crashing due to not having enough available resources.
You'll find it better after about 10pm UK time and maybe even working somewhat correctly around 6am UK time when the US left coast goes to bed.

It goes from bad to worse!

This happened over the Christmas period, and was eventually fixed.

Luckily for me I haven't trusted GU to add more to my tree in the last 10 days because of the export problem.

Oh well, back to old data and "another site that shall remain nameless" ( I won't mention it again, I promise Mr Admin )

Yes just tried to access my tree and got same message as above. Sods law that this happens when I have nothing else to do at moment and I wanted to work on my tree.

There are some great competitions and prizes to be won (see Day One to Day Seven on this thread). And fabulous offers for people to join. And big adverts in my Family History magazines that I got from Santa :-D

Not all bad news ;-)

Yes plus the Gedcom export doesn't work. It has been pretty useless since before Christmas
