I have to confess that I laughed when "Emu" floored Parkinson!

However, I also thought that if Roy Hud did the things to people without Emu on his hand, that he did with Emu, there would have been a lot of raised eyebrows.

Rollo, did you meet Roy Hud? Was he very different without Emu?

I thought that Emu was an annoying bird, but was them silly enough to buy one for my son (via Santa).
I probably deserved what I got as a result of this decision.

....no Rod Hull wasn't a bit funny, anyone going round making contact with another person by grabbing them ...... then waiting for a laugh is a sad case-jl

Roy Hull was a really nice guy who never got out of the shade of his bad mad bird. IMHO he was very funny especially when he flattened Parkinson. OTOH some people never forgave Emu for annoying the late Queen Mother.

Do not despair!
Emu is back on Children's CITV in the care of Roy's son.

For a misanthropic badly behaved puppet animal Sooty takes a lot of beating.

I thought the cabin boy was Roger?

I watched that show in all innocence when I was little.

My cousin's husband told me about the double meanings a few years ago. Could have knocked me over with a feather!

Sorry KenSE,

I was well into my 40's when someone at work enlightened me about Captain Pugwash. (before that I had thought that it was just a childrens program).

It was she who told me about Master Bates, I had no reason to disbelieve her.

I stand corrected!

Kense Report 3 Jan 2013 15:01

You are wrong Tess that was Master Mate.

The cabin boy was Tom and the only crew member with a dodgy name was Willy.

Mayfield

Mayfield Report 2 Jan 2013 21:00

The guys at Thunderbirds seemed to spend most of thier time drinking and chain smoking around the pool, except for poor old John Tracy that is, who was stuck in space all on his lonesome!

The Woodentops were good for stereotypes as a 'normal' family.

Tom and Jerry for plenty of violence.
