add some milk,,,,,,it kills the taste of some spices,,,,,,,,so I'm told,,,,,,

I think if you add raw cut up potato and cook again for a while it takes the heat out....wait a minute I think that may be too much salt!!!

I agree with the others make another batch with no chilli and that will dilute it down

I have only just spotted this Ann so I am probably too late now!!

So........for future reference, the best way to cool down a Chill is to add a couple of squares of milk chocolate..........taste........and if it is still too hot, add some more. It works with Curry too.

I make the best Chilli in the world. I have a secret ingredient. I can't give you the recipe because it is soooo secret, i would then have to kill you. :-D

I eat Tindaloo Curry.........so a Chilli is never too hot for me! :-D

well thank you gang for all the advice - just had some - put some cream in it, but didn't like it much, so chucking it out!!!!

PH I love Tindaloo as well. I have to have it delivered. When I went to the restaurant (a huge restaurant in an old chapel in Pontypandy), the Manager/Chef came over and told me off for ordering it. He said it was an insult to his skills and no way could I taste the food. He honestly said that to me. I gave in and had what he suggested, which was very nice but all creamy and coconutty. And I really couldn't taste the food much.

Tindaloo is on his take away menu so I now just phone up for it and he can be upset with me at a distance.

Wish Ann that you could have bagged up that chilli and sold it. I think you would have had at least 2 customers on here :-D

AnnCardiff Report 6 Jan 2013 11:45

do you really expect us to believe that the man who cooked the food would tell you "it was an insult to his skills and no way could you tste the food" if you ordered it?

unbelievable, really

:-S :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S

AnnC Don't care whether you believe me or not, Ann. It happened. Quite funny really. Restaurant (just voted best Indian restaurant in South Wales) had just opened. Waiter came over and took our order - saag aloo for son, kurma for OH, tindaloo for me. 2 minutes later chef/manager came over, welcomed us, checked what I had ordered and politely told me I should not order it and made some suggestions of meals I would enjoy more.

I wanted to say something, but was restrained by OH. But we still chuckle about it :-D :-D

Depends on how it was order dont you think Ann :-S if youhave some gobby English bloke demanding the hottest curry the Chef can muster just to show off ! Then the Chef would either make it whilst snorting as he would know the said gobby englishman would have the golloping whatsits the morning after, and may not be good for business or simply advise him that maybe he would like to try something that his tastebuds could cope with ;-)
