Libraries are definitely not as good as they were are they Tess?

TessAkaBridgetTheFidget Report 12 Feb 2013 10:48

Have phoned the library today. The requested books have not yet arrived will check again on Thursday.

AnninGlos Report 4 Feb 2013 16:09

Still enjoying Paris Wife.

TessAkaBridgetTheFidget Report 4 Feb 2013 15:33

Thanks Ann,
I have returned from the library minus my scarf - which seems to have been taken by the wind! ( i know that I should have tied a knot in it).

None of the top four books on the shelves.

New computer system now installed :-) Complete with glitches :-|

System didn't recognise either of the top two!

However I have requested both of the second place books. Am now on a waiting list. :-)

Will review them when I can. :-) :-)

AnninGlos Report 4 Feb 2013 14:27

Ann, as I have been out of the loop for a while do you think you could pm me a list of some of the more recent lists of books that have been put forward so I get a flavour of what people are suggesting?

Many thanks

Well done Pammy and commiserations Tess.

TessAkaBridgetTheFidget Report 15 Jan 2013 01:12

Son took me to the library. Its the one I used befor I got married and left home, but haven't used it since then.

I remembered to take my "greaders Book" plus four paperbacks .... three library books, and one I had got from a charity shop!
That meant that I had left a library book at home. (and I thought that I was organised for a change).

The library had changed a lot, which is not surprising as it is over forty years since I was last there.

When going in, I saw a notice which said something about due to internet system changes they couldn't reserve books at the moment.

There is a lot moe "stuff" there than on my last visit including a community room, lots of tables, and comfortable arm chairs, computers, etc.

However, they don't seem to have a big selection of fiction books.

None of the "top four" or "other two" were in stock....... :-(

Then just looked for books by authors on the (complete) list. Found a couple by Cecelia Ahern, so came away with one.

When I started to read it I realised that I'd read it before! :-S

Not once, but twice ! :-S :-S

I had forgotton about it, which is rather ironic as it is called .....................

"Thanks for the Memories"

I liked it the first and the second time, but don't think that I will read it this time.

Can now only borrow books for three weeks, so the books are due back on 4th Feb. Perhaps next time I will have more luck. :-D :-D
