His name is George, he is about 18 now and getting rather frail, but as he is a little concerned about his public image I'm useing a picture taken about 5 years ago! |

I have one just like him called Harry, he is a 16 years old rescue and he is adorable. He lives with my son and his family now, but walks towrads my car as I am driving down their drive and then walks alongside till I get out. He had cancer twelve months ago, and the operation cost me a fortune as we no longer had pet insurance everyone loves him, even the Vets sent a get well card. |

Remember things we used for our kit in army cadets. "Blanco" ( a sort of green sludge) was the stuff we put on our belt and gaiters and brasso on badge and buckles. |

John, lots of us know about Blanco and Bull having served in the Real Army as regular Soldiers. As for Pipe Smoke, You mean to say you liked it, ? My grandad smoked a Pipe, With "Twist "in it, the smell was so repulsive my Gran made him smoke it outdoors. |

While we are on the subject, what have they done to TCP?.No smell to speak of, it doesn´t sting & there´s no yellow stain on your skin when you have used it. |

@ Wisechild I do so agree about TCP. My Mother used it by the bottle you could smell it as you walked down the path. I always keep a couple of bottles in the medicine cupboard, my niece age 37 visited just before Christmas, came back from the bathroom and said it just smells like Nannies house. :-D :-D I am not sure if I was flattered or flattened. :-D |

@Sylvia Do you remember Gibbs Dentifrice, in a little round tin, it was a hard paste and you rubbed your wet toothbrush on it to make a foam. I am sure I have not dreamed this one. :-S |

Talking About Germolene - Can anybody remember the smell of Iodine used on cuts and wounds ? If I can cast my mind back it used to sting like hell. |
