I was all ready to go to my Yoga class at 8.55 and I cant open the side gate. So I am locked in :-( I can't even get out to go for walk.

What can I do all day? I might just go and steam clean the kitchen. Any better ideas let me know. :-D

Silly Sausage Report 7 Jan 2013 09:49

Laughing here. Now there's an interesting thought. I can just picture the neighbours reaction to that, all very right and proper lot where I live, they would have the police here within five minutes.

Call the Fire Brigade.
Go to an upstairs window and let your hair down
Set fire to side gate
Walk round and round the garden for next 2 hours
Pour hot water on gate to make it shrink (Steam cleaning the fence has same effect)
Climb over back fence onto neighbours shoulders
Have you got access to a helicopter :-S :-S

Whatever you do, it will reduce your status and neighbours will talk about that lady down the road who is no better than she ought to be :-D

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 7 Jan 2013 10:02

How on earth did that happen? :-D

Phone a neighbour who might have a spare key, or phone OH and give him h*ell. ??

Wrap and warm and potter in the garden or do some winter digging - that'll give you some exercise ;-)

Sound advice John,

I like the idea of the firemen
You make me sound like Rapunzal
It's a new gate so not sure OH would be happy
I might go out in the garden later. Not for two hours in this weather
Number five see number three
Neighbour one side has a huge dog............... He chews bones almost as big as me. Dont have neighbours to the left.
I brought my grandson a remote helicopter for Christmas, does that count?

:-( :-(

Mayfield

Mayfield Report 7 Jan 2013 13:59

A friend went to collect the mail from the porch and the door shut behind her, the outer door was double locked, so she was stuck there in her nightie till she got a passer by to go to a neighbour that had her key.

Lucky she didn’t sleep in just Chanel No 5! ;-)

JustJohn Report 7 Jan 2013 14:25

I can see the makings of a book here.

Hope you are ok Paula. Hope you are at least wearing your Channel No 5. Who is doing your shift on the bins today?

I would come to your aid if I lived in that area. I have told Hyacinth Bucket of your plight and that lady in tweeds who runs your local choir. They are very amus..... concerned :-D :-D

Merlin Report 7 Jan 2013 14:28

Have you advanced to "Yoga Flying Yet?" if so why did you not fly over the gate :-D If not ,Practice more :-D :-D ;-) ;-)

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 7 Jan 2013 14:56

Isn't that Trancendental Meditation, Merlin? Is it also part of yoga?

I remember all those TM people standing for Parliament (Natural Law Party?). I thought we might all need to fly along on our bottoms if they got elected ;-)

I rather think Paula might be otherwise engaged this afternoon with firemen. Not expecting a reply for some time. :-D

Mayfield that is sooooooo funny and has made me laugh out loud. At least I was spared that indignity even though Chanel No 5 is one of my favourites.

PS I love the picture of your cat he she/he is just like my handsome Harry the best ginger Tom in the world.

PollyinBrum

PollyinBrum Report 7 Jan 2013 15:08

John. I am still locked in, no chance of fireman, bin men or any other visitor getting in without breaking the door down. I did consider using sound waves to levitate over the gate, but the music scared the cat.

I have been a very good girl, cleaned the kitchen and prepared dinner............

OH, my knight in shining armour will be home early tonight to rescue me. ;-) ;-)

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 7 Jan 2013 15:20

Such a class difference between us. You say "my knight in shining armour" and he will call you something loving and sweet. I call him your "owd cocker" and you his "bonny wench". :-D

One of my commoner colleagues years ago at Tesco had quite a senior job. He was told by the MD (a very well educated ex school teacher) that he would only go to the very top if he learnt what was meant by gregarious embourgeoisement. He never learnt - never got beyond the jellied eels and pie and mash. MD never even suggested I was good enough to even bother to rise above lobscows (cheap lamb stew) and laver bread.

Very puzzled as to why you are not allowed to open the front door (or don't you have one?)
