Happy Birthday Huia, hope your plans worked out and you enjoyed your time out with your friend.

Shame your son had to work but that happens on birthdays, not everyone can take a day off as my o.h. likes to do. This year he is taking the week off and we are going away locally.

It's my fault there is confusion, I put the wrong dates on Jeniwren's list.

Been thinking about you.

love

Thank you all. I had a lovely day driving up the Thames coast (Coromandel Peninsula) with a friend. A trip down memory lane for me. She hadnt been up there before. She shouted me to lunch - banana splits, (my choice) mmmm. I dont think I had ever had one before. She thought it wouldnt be enough when I made the choice, but she found it was quite filling.

When we got back to her place she found her neighbour's front door was wide open and as he went off this morning for 4 days she went to investigate and found his back door was also wide open. When she went inside the alarm went off. I dont know why it hadnt gone off earlier, or perhaps it had and nobody noticed. We also saw that a window had been jemmied open, which is how they got in. I told her he needs dead bolts on the doors so that at least burglars cant carry their loot out the doors but have to put it through the window, not so easy with large things.

Thank you Stephen ( hope) and Ann.

Stephen, despite my name I am not Maori and dont speak the language and I can never find my Maori-English dictionary when I want it, but I think mihi is greetings, I know nui is big or long, te aroha is the love and whanau is family so I am sure you are not saying anything nasty to me!!!

My son and his girlfriend are off on holiday today from Rotorua, going up the Thames-Coromandel coast, but they are going to take me and my daughter (his sister) to dinner tonight. (In less than 4 hours).
