Hi. I've not used the site for quite a while. Can anyone please tell me what happened to the hot matches? Has it been removed or changed name?
Thanks ?

I don't think they are doing them anymore. Not very accurate anyway.

I haven't had any for about 2 years. I just search trees myself

:-)

Not had any as such...I get ( could this be one of your ancestors) or some such thing with a list of names that match, but not particularly dates or places.
Must say though that when I joined I was pretty lucky and got lots of contacts from 2nd cousins etc that set me on my way.I will always be grateful for the hot matches.

They are still running Hot Matches, but some time last year the 'match criteria' was changed

Now the Name DOB and Town have to match

So this has cut down considerably the amount of Hot Matches you will get.

For instance I have family in Battersea, SW London, now if I record this as Battersea, London and someone decides to put Battersea, Surrey (which is what is used to be) I will never get a Hot Match.

You will be better off using the search facility yourself where you can play around with the search criteria yourself.

If you look under Relatives, above, you can select Hot Matches which shows your current list.

On the Home Page is a section My Updates, which tells you when they last ran Hot Matches for your tree.
