Went to the docs this morning for the results of my blood test, fully expecting to be put on tablets for cholesterol. |

should be remembered thought that high cholesterol is not always down to diet - mine is familial - was in double figures when diagnosed, kept thinking I was having heart attacks - when diagnosed I asked not to have statins and I would stop eating all the wrong things - went back a month later and it had gone up to 11.7!!! then told it was familial - one of my parents must have had it, so I'm on statins and my reading is now round about 4 and I feel great |

AnnC. Same here. Though I think 11.7 is quite a bit higher than me. Think it was about 7 point something and has been 4 point something since I started statins 11 years ago. |

That's great Ann, doc mentioned that sometimes it could be that. Just got lucky I think as my dad was on statins but has recently lost so much weight through other problems that he had to come off them. I do feel a lot better though too. |

that's good Marilyn and apparently statins are a kind of elixir of life - good for all sorts of things - many benefits |

I thought a little bit of chocolate (particularly dark) was quite good for you and not particularly fattening. I know I have a couple of small squares of Tesco finest every day and it keeps me sweet :-D :-D |

Keep going k, if I can do this anyone can, it's one of the hardest things I ever had to do but I'm winning. I think I was on the way to heart attack carol, needed doc to sort me out. |

A small amount of chocolate is fine but I don't have an off switch and it easier just to say no sadly. |
