Silly Sausage

Silly Sausage Report 12 Jan 2013 10:06

...........................................................................................................................

For most of the last week I have watched a gang of workmen working on the building next to mine, not all that interesting but ever time I look out of the window I can see them ( they have a tea break every 30 mins ;-)) they have been working on a platform that moves up and down outside of the buliding. I noticed when they had finished for the day yesterday, and left the platform in the middle of the buliding.

My question is : how are they going to get it down to use it again? :-D

Stop looking out of window, Hayley ;-) We've got an economy to turn round, and I depend on you :-D Do they honestly have a tea break every 30 minutes?

I guess they will have to knock an outside wall down, pull the platform out and rebuild the wall on Monday. :-D

If it was left in the middle of the building, how did they get down? Parachute?

maybe it is on a pulley rope!! :-D

Thank you Ann and John ........and that is why I didnt ask the question out loud yesterday at work :-D

I would be ridculed for days:

They will make the lad scale the wall and climb in it like spiderman
The will go to the roof and jump on it
They have really long long ladders

No pully rope Ive check for that first Ann, its got a motor on each end thats how they move it up and down. ;-)

This saga could run and run, Hayley :-D

Can't wait for what happens ;-) This board is far more sympathetic than those sarcastic work colleagues :-)

Could there be a motor and winch on the roof they can turn on and off?

Or....or..or

It's level with a window they can climb through?

Kense

Kense Report 12 Jan 2013 10:28

Perhaps they control it via laptops, internet and wifi :-D

Silly Sausage Report 12 Jan 2013 11:14

well thank you Detective yours sounds the most likely, I assumed there is no easy excess to the Roof just for workmen and its attached from the roof....easy when you think about it really isnt now I could kick myself for that sleepless night :-(

I even did think about a remote of somesort Kense :-0 and had already looked to see if it was near a window and it isnt its midway :-D

Yes, Emma :-D :-D How did those stones get on Stonehenge? That's one question I still can't answer. More or less sorted out everything else :-D Platforms left in centre of building possibly has a very simple answer.

But no sleep for any of us till Monday night and Hayley gets in :-(

PatrickM

PatrickM Report 12 Jan 2013 12:19

The older ones have controls either on the roof or the ground level, depends which sort of platform. The newer ones do have remote control units.

Is it this sort http://goo.gl/683w2 or this sort http://goo.gl/3LPwX ?

Silly Sausage Report 12 Jan 2013 12:22

Morning Island.....stop being cheeky :-D :-D

Mau... I thought about that first I assumed they all debunked but how did the last man get out and how did the platform get to where it is now...

Mr Magoo I hope they start after 8am on Monday or I will have to hope they are floor level when I am outside have a fa...getting some fresh air ;-)

BTW I didnt sit watching them but everytime I looked up they were eye level with me ;-)
