A 67 year old Belgian woman got a bit lost........using GPS

http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/2013/01/15/16/07/woman-drives-from-brussels-to-zagreb

She was supposed to drive 60km, and ended up in Zagreb!

She said she was distracted! :-P For two days!!??

Call me old-fashioned, but I'd rather use a map.

:-)

She obviously had no sense of direction or distance. Perhaps that's why she had a satnav in the first place? :-D

My fil was quite elderly but an excellent driver when he planned a route from Bristol back home to Holywell in N Wales. M5, M6, M56. What could be easier? Got to end of M5 and forked left to join M6 and stopped in Corley Services near Coventry to get his bearings. Was very flustered when he arrived in Holywell.

I once had a similar drive planned. M1, M6, M56. Beetling up M1 northbound past J18, I thought I had forked left towards Birmingham. Went past J1, J2, J3 and pulled into Corley Services for p & t. Only to realise I was in Leicester Forest East!!!!!

Some years ago we were in a service station, can't remember which motorway. A couple were studying the map in the foyer. and arguing. When OH stepped in to help they were going in entirely the wrong direction (North instead of south or vise versa.) They didn't have a clue where they were.

The first time used my SatNav I was delighted and astounded when I reached my destination without a wrong turn. So, with great confidence I put in my return postcode and set off on my homeward journey. After about fifteen minutes it directed me to take the next left turn, which I did I, was now driving down a long lane, I passed some beautiful big houses and ended up in someone’s back garden, there were four people sitting having Sunday afternoon tea. A very nice gentleman came over and smiled and said “Has your SatNav sent you here, don't worry it is happening all the time” I am still reliant on my SatNAV when going on a new journey, I am quite capable of getting lost coming back from the garden shed.
:-D :-D
