Mr Selfridge 2014. Anybody watching it this time? I have just watched the first episode of this time. Not sure why but I couldn't get into it, seemed a bit disjointed trying to set up too many scenarios at once.

'Emma' Report 11 Feb 2013 10:36

Morning all, see they are doing a second series of
Mr Selfridge as its ratings are good.
The same cast except for Katherine Kelly who will
be unable to, due to other work.

Emma :-)

'Emma' Report 4 Feb 2013 12:34

Your welcome Teresa, I also have that reaction from
my FB lady friends who leave a message but not the fellows. Wonder why ;-)

Emma :-)

Cooper Report 4 Feb 2013 12:27

Thanks Emma :-D

Well I can catch up next week, TV permitting. Loved your diet coke link :-D I told work colleagues to have a google and also showed my friend and MIL. It raised a smile from both but strangle not the men folk gathered :-) :-D :-D :-D

Enjoy the rest of your day. I'm off to muck out youngest sons room while he is at school.

The painter kissed Mrs S and gave her the painting but
one of her daughters saw it.
MIss Love came to see Mrs S to tell her what Mr S had
been up to with her, no surprise to Mrs S who sent her off
with a flea in her ear.
Mr S went to the shop assistant's house to tell her to come
back to work and told her drunken father to leave London
and not come back, gave him some money to send him on
his way.
The painting was sent to Mr S office and hung on the wall
and he seemed to feel guilty so sent his wife 50 white roses.
When he got home the daughter was with Mrs S and he kissed
his wife and the daughter said that her mum had gone red in the
face but only blushed when the artist kissed her. Big arguement
and he went off to his club to get drunk, Miss Love shows up and
makes a scene and is ushered out. Mr S keeps getting flash backs
to when he was a child with his father.
Anyway posh car to be displayed in the store window is driven out
of the store by Mr S and crashes, oh forgot the ones who were loading
goods into a van that had nothing to do with the store were sacked but
not the shop assistants brother who was saved by the waiter who is
courting her but not for long by the looks of things.

Think thats the long and the short of it, off for a lie down :-D

Emma :-)

I have to say I have given up on the programme :-S :-S.Looked forward to it for ages ,but have just found it 'lacking in oomph, interest,I'm not sure what.It hasn't grabbed me :-S

JoyBoroAngel Report 3 Feb 2013 22:16

i think he is very naughty ;-) ;-)

'Emma' Report 3 Feb 2013 22:08

A bit more action tonight for a change. Acting not any better but
any thing to move the story along helps, only 5 more episodes to
go.......I need to get a life. :-D

Emma :-)

'Emma' Report 28 Jan 2013 12:15

Thats very interesting Chris..he appears to be a gambler
also with what is shown in the programme. :-)

ChrisofWessex Report 28 Jan 2013 12:14

A bit of pampering like that Paula would do us all good but OH has not the money - nor would he ever buy me furs. Occasionally I have received a piece of jewellery but not sufficient to cover me!

PollyinBrum Report 28 Jan 2013 12:08

Chris, I don't know why but picturing that scene really made me laugh :-D :-D :-D

ChrisofWessex Report 28 Jan 2013 11:59

Apparently Mr Selfridge was much worse than portrayed to date. His womanising led to his bankruptcy, he chased women and covered them with jewels and furs.

Ooh sounds a nice man ------ if you are a woman!! ;-)

'Emma' Report 28 Jan 2013 11:49

You will have to google that one Paula ;-) :-D

PollyinBrum Report 28 Jan 2013 11:47

Is he related to Daivd Pollyfilla? ;-)

'Emma' Report 28 Jan 2013 11:33

Yes... defo by Stephen Polywotsisname :-D :-D

ButtercupFields Report 28 Jan 2013 11:29

Is that the one with Jacqueline Bisset? By Stephen Polywotsisname? If so I will defo watch it. Looks interesting and a bit 'dark' so it should be good. BC XX
