Well versed in the way of the internet, I should never have got started here. But I have and did. Now I'm on the freebie deal which takes a six month subscription at the end of a month. How can I activate it immediately so I can access more extensive data bases? Or do I cancel & set up a monthly subscription? Six month deal has a slight saving. Thanks for any help

Welcome Hapi ~

I've only got the basic subscription, because most of the GR records are English (they have some Scottish census records). Other members can tell you what records GR have.

I didn't know there was a monthly rate, and you cannot cancel!

You will be automatically renewed at the level you are now on unless you change it. Look at "My Account".

I assume it gives you a months free trial then a six month subscription. But there is more than one type of subscription. You can be standard or you can go for a higher sub. With standard you don't have access to any of the censuses etc. I think you may find more information under terms and conditions right at the bottom of this page. If you want help with finding out things go to the find ancestors board and ask on there, it is where you will find most of the people who do look ups for people.

I thought the 14 day free trial gave you access to the records?....maybe not the miltary, parish, british newspapers and travel?? is that what you are looking for? If so you have to pay extra for those, as far as I am aware

Have you tried a free trial with Find my past?
