I have a medal which was given to soldiers who served in 1914-1918 war.
I have just found that it has my gfather's name on the side of it, and a number and Camb R Would this be his service number and the regiment he served in? Thanks for reading

You're on the right lines !!

The Cambridgeshire Rifles formed part of the Suffolk Regiment, becoming the Cambridgeshire Regiment in 1908, though remaining under the auspices of the Suffolks.

1/1st Bn fought on the Western Front.

The last surviving member of the Regt died in 2000.
